A working farm until the 1930s, the farm was let by King's College, Cambridge, the owners of the land from 1500 to the mid 20th century.
The Manor Farm House has been dated more precisely to the first decade of the 16th c by English Heritage. The building is important for numerous reasons. First, it is an early brick building for the Greater London area. Early integrated stack, in fact it has been described as Medieval/ modern transitional. Evidence of a garderobe on the N side and advanced carpentry techniques in the joists of the first floor.
